There are many and great advantages of affiliate networks.
Central system & saving time: Yo don’t need to login and track your performance on each and every site/company/advertiser everyday. Since you will be working for these sites through affiliate network, so you will only login to affiliate network site and track all your performance and commission details. So this saves a lot of time and headache. If you are working for 100 sites directly without affiliate network then you need at least 1 hour to check all sites if you made any commission or not. So affiliate network saves this time.
Creditability: Every site offering commission to sell his product is not credible. You will think 100 times before start marketing of any particular new site but affiliate network also solves this problem. Affiliate networks charge advertisers in advance so they may pay to publishers (affiliate) for their sales and hard work. If any advertiser gets low balance, affiliate network immediately warns publishers about low balance. So it is almost 100% guaranteed that if you made a sale you will get commission for this work.
Payout Options: Another problem in working with individual sites is “payout option”. All sites don’t offer all payout option. Almost 90% sites offering affiliate marketing option requires to earn a certain minimum amount to get paid like 10$, 50$, 100$. For example one site is paying 1$ per new subscriber coming from your referral link and same site sets 10$ minimum affiliate commission before it is paid to you at the end of month. Payouts are usually processed at the end of each month then if you have earned 5$ (brought 5 new subscribers) at the end of month then you will not get paid. Your earnings will be rollover to next month. If you are working for 100 sites then you can face this situation with 50% sites. Until your commission is not reached at minimum level, you will not get paid.
Affiliate Networks solve this problem. Affiliate networks serve both i.e. advertisers (site owners) and publishers (marketer). The work like middleman or broker. They offer a central platform to advertisers and publishers. Advertisers place their offers with all details and publishers pick their favorite offers and market them. Simply affiliate network means working for advertisers/sites through third party (affiliate network). Affiliate network don’t offer their own products, they only provide platform to advertisers to place their offers at central place.

In this post I will try to explain how Affiliate marketing works!
Each website offering Affiliate feature has a proper Affiliate area/module. For example if www.ebooksparadize.com is offering affiliate commission and 100 people are working for www.ebooksparadize.com then how admin of www.ebooksparadize.com will monitor that which affiliate is working and selling products and which affiliate is sleeping. To monitor performance of each affiliate, every website has separate affiliate area where affiliate signup as an affiliate. Once any one singup as an affiliate then he is given a affiliate url like www.ebooksparadize.com/?ref=12345 This affiliate url is also called referral link.
Now affiliate will use that referral link for marketing purpose. This referral link will be used for all kind of marketing like forum posting, blogging, social networks, etc. Once visitor will click on this referral link that website will place a cookie (a small piece of information) in visitor’s computer browser that will tell to the website at the time of buying product that this product is sold by which affiliate.
Website’s internal affiliate module will monitor all incoming visitors and sales from your referral link. You can see performance of all your marketing efforts from their internal affiliate module. Good affiliate module even will tell you from which site you sent more visitors and buyers. For example you posted your referral link at 5 different discussion forums. Then you can monitor that which forum post is working most. You can see all visitors details inside affiliate area.
Definitely working with one website is not enough because of lower commission ratio, less number of products, etc. But if you are working for hundreds sites then it will be difficult for you to keep track of your performance at hundred sites.
